My Soul Remembers

We had a great time experiencing communion together this past Sunday. It was an awesome privilege to share in this special meal together. During this moment, we remembered God’s sacrifice for us and His lovingkindness towards us. However, it was more than just a stroll down memory lane.  We partook and drank in our acceptance of His gift of life with newness.  We proclaimed our faith in His coming.

For those who were not able to share communion with us, take some time today to remember.  Recall to mind His faithfulness and His sacrifice.  Cherish His promise of forgiveness and receive His life into yours once again. Let’s read His merciful invitation to us to stop and remember:

Lamentations 3:20-24
20     Surely my soul remembers and is bowed down within me.
21     This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope.
22     The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail.
23     They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
24     “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.”

When our lives are painful and our soul aches, we are invited to to remember His faithfulness.  As surely as the sun rises, He comes to us.  He responds to us.  The new morning is a constant reminder of His unshakable faithfulness.

Lord, today, I will simply remember.  Help me to enter in and receive your life with newness.  Help me to trust in your forgiveness.  Give me eyes to see your goodness and trust in your faithfulness.  Thank you for being my Savior.  Amen.
